Industry transformation case study
The client & the challenge
Start with the business.
Shami Food Factories operates in Saudi food production and distribution. Its operating model requires coordination between the ingredients purchased, the products manufactured and the orders supplied to customers.
For a food manufacturer, a sale is only the visible end of a longer chain. Purchasing needs to support production demand; production consumes ingredients and creates finished goods; and finance needs the cost context behind those movements. Quality and equipment readiness also affect the ability to deliver.

The TDS approach
DIS, TDS’s Saudi team, implemented the core environment across accounting, sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, maintenance and quality. The business requirements describe the links between bills of materials, material consumption, finished-stock updates and manufacturing costs. The delivery approach separated this core operating scope from the subsequent HR phase.
Business value first
What the design makes possible
A connected operational foundation
The confirmed core go-live brings the principal business functions into Odoo, providing a shared framework for factory and commercial teams.
Production with cost context
The documented manufacturing model links materials and production activity to product cost. This gives management a basis for examining the economics behind output.
Quality and maintenance in the operating model
Including quality and maintenance alongside manufacturing recognises that production performance depends on more than issuing work orders.
The project-status overview confirms phase-one go-live and post-go-live support for the core scope. HR was a subsequent phase in progress in that record. No quantified reduction in waste, production cost or downtime is asserted.
